The kimono-girl is leaning over the cat and stroking its throat. The cat seems annoyed, but doesn't seem to mind it. The illustration is inspired ukiyo-e created by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi who has widely been recognized as the last great master of the ukiyo-e genre of woodblock printing and painting in 1888. I have created several works that focus on cats that appear in ukiyo-e which is a genre painting created in Japan from the Edo period to the Taisho period, and was popular among the common people. And this print is perfect for cat lovers wall art.
